Personally, I prefer to do my skincare and hair-care routines using natural ingredients which are easily available in every household. This helps in having control over what we are exposing our skin/hair to. We can also avoid the products we are allergic to. We can adjust the concentration of the ingredients as per skin’/hair’ sensitivity.
It is also necessary we cover neck region while using face pack.
Today, we are preparing face pack with 2 essential and 1 optional ingredient.
Today' Ingredients: TURMERIC and HONEY
Usage: 2-3 days a week (alternate days)
Turmeric:
Is super anti-bacterial and helps to keep skin clear and healthy.
Has anti-inflammatory properties to keep skin pores clam.
Turmeric powder can be used for exfoliation as well.
Reduces acne and brightens skin
It also helps reduce blemishes to have clear skin.
Helps in lighten sun tan
Has antiseptic properties.
**Turmeric stains on clothes are hard to remove, so be careful while using turmeric based packs.
Honey:
Has soothing effect.
Has high hydrating properties which moisture skin.
Is anti-inflammatory and helps in healing/rebuilding cells and also sunburn.
Is antibacterial which cleanses skin and keeps healthy.
Can be used as daily cleanser and is a gentle exfoliator.
Sandalwood Powder (optional):
If you have oily skin, you can add sandalwood powder to the above 2.
Sandalwood helps control oil secretion.
It removes tan, dark spots, and fights acne.
Has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Face Pack Preparation:
Mix ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder, ¼ teaspoon of sandalwood powder (Optional) and 1 tablespoon of honey.
Add little milk (any milk at room temperature – raw/boiled) if consistency is thick. (honey could be thick due to cold climate)
** Alternatively, you can blow the mixture with blower to melt honey a bit and get thin paste.
Apply as thin layer on face (cheeks, nose edges, smile line and t-zone) and neck. Avoid application near eyes.
Keep it for 15-20 mins minimum and wash off with cold/lukewarm water.
Apply a good toner (rosewater/cucumber based) after patting face and neck dry.
**Use Rice-Water, if you don't have above eady to use toners.
**Never use hot warm for face/hair wash as it damages the skin and hair protein(keratin).
Try out for sure and let me know if you see your skin glow..!!
