4*4 simple and dotted colored rangoli - Pattern1
Lets begin with a simple 4*4 dots rangoli with only straight lines.

** Lines are not so straight and fine. Try to make them better.
Step 1: put 4*4 dots equidistantly to form a square of 16 dots

Step 2 and 3: Draw slanting and straight lines by connecting dots as shown.

Step 4 and 5: Draw horizontal lines to complete the middle design pattern.

Step 6 and 7: Draw slanting lines to form a Swastik type pattern. Draw small circles on the 4 extreme dots.
** If not possible to get the shape, put white rangoli on the dot and press it with finer to form a circle (with cleft in between)

Alternatively, draw flame pattern with the extreme dots as shown in the first image.
Step 8 and 9: connect the circles with straight lines and fill your favorite colors.

**I have added variation here as drawing a flame type pattern may-not be possible initially. The above design is simple with no curves.
Keep a Diya in the middle square area to enhance and complete the look.
Your first simple easy dotted colored traditional rangoli is ready to be flaunted.
Let me know your thoughts and keep trying..!! :)
