Story-Line/Synopsis
The entire setup of this drama is in Yulje Medical Center (YMC) whose owner has 5 children, 4 of which are priests/nun. Only the youngest son is Pediatric Surgeon who is practicing in other hospital and joins YMC on his dad' death and for his mother' wish. He also wishes to follow his siblings and be a priest soon.
Inside YMC, the 5 doctors and their story unfolds gradually while they spend their daily routines treating their patients. A boring event in their 1999 class of medical college forces each of these 5 leads to skip/escape the event and hide in a hideout room where they become friends-forever types for about 20 years. They are now colleagues in YMC.
Introducing The Leads
Lee Ik-joon: Assistant Professor of General Surgery
The center of attraction of the group, a super-cool, talented and multi-faceted personality. Hilarious character who knows minute details of the hospital. He is also single father and his son is cute as button. The quick-witted, sarcastic, war-of-words and emotional scenes between the father-son duo is great. He is admirer, supporter, and secretly in love with of Chae Song-hwa.
Jo Jung-suk is an versatile actor and watching him is always a new experience altogether. He doesn't disappoint us in this drama as well.

Kim Joon-wan: Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery
He is a thorough professional, and straight forward. Often comes across as rude and emotionless senior. He does not hesitate to question his subordinates during a patient follow-up or surgery. He loves to compete with Jeon Mi-do in food-gobbling.
Eventually he falls in love with Lee Ik-joon' sister. Their moments together are worth watching for.
It' my first time to watch Jung Kyung-ho, and he has done great a job.
Would definitely search for more of his works.

Ahn Jung-won: Assistant Professor of Pediatric Surgery
I'm partial towards Yoo Yeon-seok, as I love all his performances. He is just perfect.
He is few of my Oppas from K-drama..!!
The heir of the YMC and 1 of the best Pediatric Surgeon. Very emotional and sensitive character who gets affected by his patients. He is shown as stingy doctor who keeps records of each expense and due with his friends but runs a charity with his own funds helping patients to pay for their treatments in secret. And of-course he is handsome, and other nurses/staff have crush on him. Jang Gyeo Wool is Surgery Resident and pursues him endlessly after their 1st meeting. Eventually, he also falls for her and gives up being a priest.
She fell for him first, but he fell harder for her..!! The expected happy ending..!! :-)

Yang Seok-hyung - Assistant Professor of O&B
Yang Suk Hyung as Asst. Prof of O&B is also convincing. He treats his patients and is understanding towards the ever-cribbing wanna-be mothers. He is reticent and shy character. He is illegitimate son of a rich dad. Seeing his mother' suffering due to his father, he is caring and considerate towards his mother. He is divorced and blames his family' identity crisis as reason for the same. He is now all for his mother, profession and love for his new TV. In college, he proposes Chae Song-hwa and gets rejected; and continues to be friends with her. He is the one who comes with idea to form a band and in each episode we are blessed with their jamming sessions.
His junior resident doctor speaks without any filters, and has crush on him. His awkward moments with her are pleasing and funny to watch.

Chae Song-hwa - Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery
Last but not the least, purposely introducing Jeon Mi-do. Only female doctor and with the most pleasant on-screen presence. She is tone deaf and vocalist in the gang.
She is cute and perfect mix of childish and experienced behavior. She is a thorough professional and at the same time balances her personal preferences with ease. She loves her alone time and enjoys camping. She is a confidante and reliable friend. When Ahn Jung-won is planning to leave hospital service to become a priest, he entrusts her to continue his philanthropic task.
The bits and pieces of the drama hints that she and Lee Ik-joon like each other, but prefer to remain platonic for their friendship goals (she has rejected Yang Seok-hyung' proposal during their college days). This is open point for the 1st season.
This is again first time seeing Jeon Mi-do. Not only is she beautiful, but she has played part perfectly. Her theater background does immense justice to her role.

Rest of the support cast has also done remarkable job as well.
Overall, a power packed drama which will leave lingering feelings.
Lot of open points in the last episode will get its due closure in the next season.
Till then don't miss Medical K-Drama - Hospital Playlist (Season-1)..!!
